Day 01: Arrive Bali – Legian beach
Bali is fantastic for a family getaway. There are a huge variety of options to keep children entertained and superb, family friendly hotels that cater for the parents as well as the kids. The Balinese people love children and are more than happy to keep them entertained whether it be at a hotel kid’s club or at a local restaurant. Some of the best hotels to start your trip are along the Legian beach strip, or you may choose a private villa in nearby Seminyak where you can opt for a private butler, nanny and chef if you desire.
Days 02 - 05: Legian beach
Legian has a postcard perfect stretch of white sand surf beach. There is your regular range of beach activities available from surfing, banana boat rides and jet-skiing, as well as bungee jumping for the thrill seeking teenagers or horseback rides for the younger ones. Waterbom Park, in nearby Kuta, features numerous swimming pools and water slides in a lush tropical setting. Every evening the beachside bars are a popular place to enjoy the breath taking sunset views and a drink before wandering to one of the international restaurants nearby which all cater for kids.
Days 06 - 09: Ubud
Ubud is where you will experience authentic Balinese culture in a beautiful mountain setting. Outside the town center, glimmering rice paddies, lush jungle and the Ayung river valley entice you to explore. River rafting and the Mt. Batur downhill mountain biking are both fantastic family adventures which will have you and the kids laughing. Why not check out a traditional Kecack dance, a colourful and dramatic interpretation of a Hindu story about Prince Rama, performed at night in one of the many Hindu temples in Ubud.
Days 10 - 13: Jimabaran Bay
On the southern tip of the island is a superb crescent of white sand beach and emerald ocean known as Jimbaran Bay, home to some incredible beach resorts. This is an excellent place from which to set out on boat excursions to nearby islands, snorkelling or diving adventures, and if the season is right, an ocean raft swim with the dolphins. In the evening, wander along the beach and choose one of the many restaurants where the water will lap at your feet while you enjoy fresh cooked seafood and the sunset in this tranquil setting – a perfect way to relax at the end of your trip.
Day 14: Depart Bali
The most difficult decision that you will have to make while you are here is to leave. The airport is close by to Jimbaran Bay and flights connect to other regions of Indonesia, or to other major international South East Asian hubs including Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok should you want to extend your travels.
