Trekking excursion to Kyar Tun village and U Daung Hill. After breakfast, transfer by boat to the village of Indein. Take a short walk around the village, passing a local school and head to a covered stairway to the beautiful Alaung Sitthou area (Indein Temple complex) where dozens of ancient stupas stand in an overgrown jungle like setting. Start trekking to Kyar Tun village with great wide angle panoramic views via the foothill of U Daung Thaung, which we will bypass on our outgoing leg.
Another hour from the foothill of U Daung Thaung brings you to Kyar Tun village. The residents of the village are Pa O and Taung Yoe ethnic tribes. Walk through the village and observe their daily lives. Then take about 45 minutes back to the foothill of U Daung Thaung. From this point, walk uphill for about 45 min. to a monastery. At times, the ascent is rather steep.
On the way, stop regularly for a breather, for some unique snapshots, and mainly to enjoy an uninterrupted clear panoramic view of the whole southern lake area.
Visit U Daung Thaung Monastery and the burial site of the famous monk, venerated in this region for his meditation and devotion to the Sasana (the spreading of the Budddhist Teachings). If in luck we can get the opportunity to meet Pa O ethnic tribes who come for Sabbath day offerings or one or other religious ceremony there; that is also the case when trekking to and from Kyar Tun village. Enjoy a picnic style lunch there. Descend U Daung Thaung and continue back to Indein temple complex (approx. 60 min.). Visit adjacent Sae Ma village and after that transfer back to Inle by boat. (Total walking time is 4 hrs and 30 min.) Overnight in Inle Lake.

Start a nice trek towards the high hills through deep Pa O territory in the Shan mountains passing settlements such as Ma Gyi Pin village, Moe Kaung village, Dong Ta Khawh village, Hti Ne village and Naung Khe village. After approximately one hour trekking from Nampan, reach Dong Ta Khawh village where you can observe their main daily economic activities including mainly cheroot leaves production. Right beyond this point follows the most challenging part of the trek with a steep climb for about one hour up to Hti Ne village with great sweeping views of some of the southern Inle Lake area and villages. After a short rest and a quick look around in Hti Ne we are off again. Our final leg of the trek another 90 min. approx. brings you from Hti Ne to Naung Khe village through rolling countryside in which a wide variety of agricultural activities take place.
Get into a waiting vehicle and drive from Naung Khe to Kakku Temple complex, a collection of over 2000 Buddhist stupas dating from the 12th and 13th centuries and concentrated in the space of one square kilometer.
