Ok here it goes. If you want a super personal, private and intimate experience on a boat in Halong Bay, then the Valentine junk is the only option.

It has only 5 cabins so you can rent the entire boat for a family/small group which i would highly recommend. The other boats run by DiscoveryHalong.com look very impressive and certainly has a few more additions that a large boat would have like covered area on the boat deck, outdoor eating area etc however the privacy and exclusivity of Valentine cannot be beaten.

You will essentially feel like you have the entire boat to yourself with your own chef and crew. They will also be flexible in terms of the itinerary and will cater to whaever you and you family want. The food was surprisinly good, a nice mixture of local and international and every meal had at least 7 dishes.

Movie nites on Valentine is also very special. One of my favourite memories of Valentine is watching Indochine with my mum. We def felt like it was our own private boat. We also liked that we never had to wait for anyone during activities. We could take our own time and dictate the pace we wanted to go at.

Halong Bay is truly magnificent. Waking up to gorgeous limestone surroundings and doing Tai-Chi on deck are truly memorable. We were also told that the master suite on Valentine is the nicest in all of Halong Bay. Other boats may look newer on the outside but their cabins are half the size of Valentine.

I highly recommend this boat and this particular trip to Halong Bay. Do the 2 nites and 3 days trip bc then you really get the full experience.
